Granito Cabernet Carmenere 2016

Granito is a granitic soil which is more than 120 million years old. It is composed of granitic rocks with a high degree of decomposition, producing a wine with great structure and length. The vines are old with deep roots and this minerality expressed beautifully in the wine.

This Cabernet Sauvignon (62%) and Carmenere (38%) blend is from the Mingre State, a dry coastal area which is 45 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean and 193 metres above sea level. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks and the wine is then aged in oak casks for 18 months.

Rich purple in colour. On the nose, notes of rich dark berry fruit with liquorice and warm spice. The palate is deliciously sumptuous and full, with good structure and firm, ripe tannins. It is multi-layered and complex on the finish. A fresh and youthful style, but extremely approachable.
