Chateau Guillot Clauzel Pomerol 2012

Château Guillot-Clauzel is a Pomerol estate with a very promising future. It is made by Guillaume Thienpont, the winemaker behind Le Pin and Vieux Château Certan, but currently sold at a fraction of the price. The estate is tiny, 2.4 hectares sitting on a south facing slope just a few hundred yards from Le Pin itself. Its vines are planted on gravel and clay, including a section of old Merlot vines planted on the blue clay for which the appellation is famous.
