This heavily peated Islay whisky opens with a bold rush of smoke, quickly giving way to salted caramel, honeyed melon and ripe apricot. On the palate, dense waves of peat are balanced by golden honey, stone fruit, toasted oak, chocolate and coconut, all lifted by a subtle saline freshness. The finish is long and resonant, with earthy peat, cocoa and a faint maritime breeze lingering beautifully.
