A very fine Alión, showing less oak than usual and offering a profile of depth and subtlety. On the palate, there’s sapidity, a hint of salinity, and fully integrated, smooth tannins. The oak is impressively well-integrated, with much more subtlety than in previous vintages. The wine displays fluidity, a chalky texture, and notable finesse. A touch of violet appears on the back palate, and the wine remains very primary. One of the most impressive Alións in recent memory.
