This is an incredibly fine wine, packed with pure blackcurrant, blackberry and damson fruit, along with bramble, tobacco, graphite and spice. The tannins are incredibly fine and there’s good acidity, suggesting great ageing potential. It has rich fruit but it’s wonderfully balanced with a real elegance to it. From an area better known for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this really impresses.
