With a colour somewhere between ruby-red and cherry, it displays a restrained nose with earthy and balsamic reminiscences which refresh the aromas of black forest fruit. Hints of smoke, spices (black pepper) and the odd blue flower open the way for a well-balanced mouth with plentiful yet well-integrated tannins. Its feel brings to mind powdered cocoa and black plum skins. It is fresh and smooth on the palate, a juicy and pleasing wine with all the balanced harmony a good Cerasuolo di Vittoria can bring; Nero d’Avola delivers structure and character, whereas Frappato provides the fruity notes.
