In 1999 the Symington Port family partnered up with the Prats family of Bordeaux to make a top Douro Valley red wine, with Chryseia the result. The grapes come from the historic Qunita de Roriz estate along with the nearby Quintas of Perdiz and Vila Belha in the Upper Douro Valley. A blend of Tourigas Nacional and Franca this powerful wine is laced with rich dark fruits, spice, herbs and firm tannins. The balanced acidity brings freshness and a finesse to the wine and underscores the aging potential.
