Chateau Ka Fleur de Ka

A relative newcomer to the scene in the ancient Bekaa Valley but now a serious contender, up there with the revered Chateau Musar. Chateau Ka, literally meaning “soul for an ancient god”, was founded by Akram Kassatly as recently as 2000, with the first release in 2006. Previous attempts to start the wine business had been thwarted by war but this time the winery has flourished.

This is a wonderfully characterful wine. Bright red fruits jump out of the glass along with a hint of oak. The palate is rich, smooth and supple with bright cherry and redcurrant fruit, fine tannins hint to its longevity and the finish is minutes long and velvety. Elegant but powerful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.
