Cabutto Barolo 2017

Expressive, but appealing aroma with hints of incipient ripe red and somewhat darker fruit, with an emphasis on red cherries, blackberries, some wild berries, as well as anise, pepper, tar, leather, dried roses and mushrooms. Hints of herbs and forest floor on the nose. Nice full-bodied wine with a distinctly good, rich mouthfeel. Great concentration of rich, soft and juicy ripe red fruit on the palate, with an emphasis on cherries and plums, as well as somewhat darker berries in the direction of wild berries. Hints of herbs, spices, leather and liquorice, as well as salt minerals, nuts and barrels. Fresh acid. Firm tannins. Great length with a dry, slightly acidic finish. Very good wine. A lot of Barolo for the money.
