Description
Made from grapes grown on slopes on the foothills of Simonsberg Mountain, a unique setting at the epicentre of Franschhoek, Paarl and Stellenbosch in the Western Cape. The soil is a blend of shale and granite, allowing for slow-ripening and concentration of fruit in the final wine. Each variety is fermented separately and matured in new French oak for 23 months before being blended into this limited release. It’s an opulent red with aromas of violets, thyme and cocoa. On the palate are notes of warm spice, intense blackcurrant jam and an underlying savoury depth of cigar box. Ends with a long, satisfying finish. This will age gracefully!
