The magnificent Haras de Pirque estate occupies a privileged position at the foot of the Andes, in Chile’s Maipo Valley region. The lovingly tended vineyards are on largely north-facing slopes, from the middle of which rises a unique horseshoe-shaped gravityflow winery, inspired by the estate’s other claim to fame: as an internationally renowned thoroughbred breeding farm. The wine side of Haras de Pirque is now owned by Italy’s Antinori family, their chief winemaking Renzo Cotarella bringing his own elegant sensibility to bear while respecting the character of this very particular terroir.
On the nose there are notes of chocolate, earth and spices with juicy blackcurrant mint and cocoa on the palate. A well-balanced, lost lasting finish. The Hussonet is a delicious expression of its unique terroir.
