Greece’s answer to Bolgheri, a Bordeaux style wine from central Greece.
Showing a level of ripeness and intensity, combined with elegance, structure and capacity for ageing, rarely seen outside Pomerol and Bolgheri, while La Tour Melas can already be found on the wine lists of many of London`s finest Greek restaurants, it has yet to be tasted by any of the major international wine critics – which is why you can still pick the wines up for a (relative) song: Dark crimson. The Cabernet Franc is definitely showing its presence in fragrant dark red fruit and a note of graphite, spice too. There’s sweet oak too and a touch of vanilla. Terrific depth on the palate from the Aghiorgitiko.
