Tokaji Aszu, one of the world’s best known sweet wines is made from grapes that have shrivelled on the vine under the influence of noble rot which massively concentrates the sugar levels. This, from Chateau Dereszla, whilst unctuously sweet is not at all cloying and is full of rich orange peel and marmalade flavours. The good mineral backbone and crisp acidity counter the sticky sweetness perfectly and leads to a long, rich and cleansing finish.
